Roadmap
Where we've been. Where we're heading.
The key dates so far, and what we plan to add in each version of retain.solutions. Future dates and features are targets, and we'll update them as the pilot shows us what matters most. The yellow dot marks where we are today.

Next · Mid October 2026
v0Pilot comparisons.
The first version, run with 10 pilot practices on their real projects.
- 3 two-page reports per practice, comparing retain, retrofit, extend and replace on real projects
- Scored on seven measures: cost, carbon (embodied and running), materials & waste, floor area, running costs, comfort & health, and delivery (time and disruption)
- Prepared by us, from benchmarks built on published cost guides, carbon data and building science research
- Pilot feedback decides what comes next
-
Target · Late 2026
v1The tool.
Practices run their own comparisons, start to finish.
- Enter a project in about 10 to 15 minutes
- A two-page, client-ready report straight away
- A practice login, so you can run comparisons and reopen your saved reports
- Your practice branding on every report
- Benchmarks refined from the pilot projects
- Carbon payback: how many years a new home takes to make up the carbon spent building it
-
Target · Mid 2027
v2Deeper comparisons.
More of what pilot practices and their clients ask for, and a version homeowners can use too.
- Plain-English summaries tailored to each client
- New measures chosen from pilot feedback, such as planning risk
- Biodiversity and site impact: mature trees, soil and permeable area, mapped for each pathway
- Access for homeowners and property owners, with results written for them
-
Target · 2028
v3Beyond the house. Beyond Sydney.
Expanding from Greater Sydney houses to more of the buildings, and more of the places, Australians live in.
- Apartments and apartment buildings
- The missing middle: townhouses, terraces, duplexes and small multi-unit buildings
- Comparisons that work for strata and body corporate decisions
- Other Australian cities and regions, calibrated to their own costs, climate and planning rules
